One of the most popular additions to a standard lanyard is the retractable pass holder, also known as a badge reel. This is sewn onto the lanyard to make it an integral part of the product. How a Retractable Lanyard Works

Any of our standard lanyard materials can be used when creating retractable clip lanyards. The badge reel acts as an extension of the lanyard, using a durable cord that extends to reach an access point – such as an electronic ID reader or manual lock – before smoothly retracting back into the reel. This simple mechanism keeps cards secure, reduces the risk of loss, and allows fast, hands-free access throughout the day.

Custom Retractable Reels and Fittings

We offer a wide range of retractable reels: both standard circular and square options that can be custom printed with your logo. For extra versatility, carabiner-style retractable lanyards can be attached to an existing fitting such as a split ring or metal clip. This is just the ticket for professionals who already use branded lanyards but could benefit from adding a retractable feature.

Plain and Designer Extendable Lanyard Options

Alongside our retractable models, we also supply a full range of Plain and Designer Lanyards if you’re looking for something a little more distinctive. These can also be customised with your brand colours or printed logo for a professional finish, and, of course, you're welcome to add extras from our wide range of accessories.

Ordering & Minimum Quantities

Although we can produce small quantities, due to the manufacturing process and unit price, the minimum order quantity is 50 pieces. Orders below this number are still possible, but will be charged at the 50-piece rate.
